Calling on Redrock M2 Encore upgrade people....

I need advice on my Redrock encore upgrade.

After putting together my encore upgrade to the M2 and also the microX encore, the edge- to edge sharpness is horrendous. I just don't know what to do.

I zoomed into 85 and the focus is at 97. Which is another thing...the recommended zoom/focus in 85/80. How the heck could mine be 85/97???? Isnt 17 marks away from the recommended a little strange? I can understand 3 to 5, but 17? Does anyone else have the encore upgrade and can share their settings?

I tried balancing the camera vertically on the microX to ensure the camera is shooting the gg straight on. Still no improvement. I had a shoot today and it looked like I put a blur vignette filter on the camera. Its awful. I had to zoom the HVX to 95 just so I could get my shots.
Any advice or help would be great.

I ended up mf87 and Z85........and great edge to edge. I'm totally happy.

get a focus chart or make a chart yourself in illustrator.....even just simple horizontal lines can help.

make sure that all the parts are physically aligned correctly to start with. When I first did my setup this was my problem. Then grab a light a tripod some chart of some kind and keep adjusting and you will find your sweet spot.

I plugged my camera into a my 42" LCD TV and was able to adjust the backfocus just perfect. You want a balance of sharpness across the frame.

Keep trying. I did and it payed off......
