Call My Name (叫我)

Hey
I'm working on an asian melodrama called Call My Name or 叫我 in Chinese. The basic plot of the story is a speech therapist/linguist professor who pretty much lives a well-off but unfulfilling life. The supreme irony is that he's hired to help teach a mute girl and ends up falling in love with her. Their relationship goes through some twists and turns, especially when they realize that a disease, the one that took her voice, is coming back and might kill her.

Tell me what you think?

P.S. I'll post some of the script so that you guys have an idea of what happens.

Well i read the first few pages. Couple things

If your serious about Screenwriting you might want to "invest" in some software like Final Draft or moviemagic screenwriter.

Second - scripts are supposed to describe things we can SEE not smell, or even hear in some cases. Its ok to use them as adjectives and to give something character but use it sparingly.

Try not to use "we," I know, its hard.

Keep writing!

Ive always liked the idea of using smells, or sounds in scripts. It is harder to make these senses come to life in a film, since a film is visual. but that is the whole point of the script, to guide those making it. The girl is mute, so sounds and smells are important in this story. But i agree with what you said alexander, "try to stay away from using WE". good job overall!
