Can someone explain this type of Doc? Not sure I fully understand how it works.

Do you or they mean a documentary along the lines of Call + Response, a documentary from about ten years ago about human trafficking and lead to the Activism 2.0 idea?

Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_+_Response

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Activism_2.0

Trailer for the doc:

The idea, as I understand it, is to use film, social media, etc to compel viewers and users towards actual change.

Is that what you're wondering about or are you asking a different question?

Not the film itself, but the technique used for a "call and response" style of documentary film.

I'm not understanding this question. Are you asking what style of documentary the film "Call and Response" is? Or are you asking for an explanation of the documentary style called "call and response"? I have never heard of the latter.

The latter, I've heard it mentioned but I'd like to learn more about it.

Any chance you can ask the people who used the term that way? Sorry to be redundant, but check out the second link in my post above... The Wikipedia entry for Activism 2.0. That's the only way I've heard the term used to describe a type of documentary as "Call and Response." Then google around for more info on Activism 2.0. And then let us know what you find!

Was that documentary ever finished? I can only find trailers and it was started 6 years ago. Also agree, what exactly do the OP wants to accomplish? An activism documentary with a response of some sort such as a telephone number to call? Interesting but not clear what is wanted.
