caffeine immune?

I have been drinking coffee and other energy drink type stuff for like 2 years now, and I am wondering, is it possible to become immune to caffeine? The other day I tried this energy drink called "Bawls" which is supposed to be like the most caffinated drink out there, and I didn't really feel any effects. I know energy drinks are super bad for you, and I really dont drink them that often, but I drink coffee pretty much every day, and it seems like all it does is give me the jitters. Maybe I should stop drinking it all together...

I don't think you can become immune to caffeine. It's not a disease :) Maybe your body might become more tolerant and subtle with the way it handles your caffeine intake, but I doubt it would become completely tolerant or immune to it. I drink coffee all day and after enough cups of coffee, I go a little crazy and start talking complete nonsense on the phone. :P

That's probably not a bad idea. I've never noticed any effect from caffeine, but I know a few people who are absolutely addicted to it.

yea, I probably am addicted to it, although I like to tell myself that it's not so much the caffeine, as it is the taste of the drinks that have the caffeine in them. too bad they don't make caffeine free red bull.....

I'm too addicted to stop.

If I go an hour without a coke, the headaches start up and I slip into the unforgiving arms of withdrawl. This then leads to deep depression and another coke.

Heroin is even worse.

Caffeine doesn't do a thing to me. Never has. Tea, soda, NoDoz, whatever.

Hmmm...for that matter, neither does sugar. What the heck's a "sugar high"?

So. Who's the mutant? Me, or most other people?

That article re enforced my thoughts that quitting caffeine wouldn't be such a bad idea....It also seems like the only drink without caffeine in it is water lol.

My girlfriend's horribly addicted to caffeine. Alright, maybe horrible's a strong word, but if she doesn't get her coffee it's like Dr. Jekyl and Mrs. Hyde.

I'll sometimes indulge her and drink it. I find that I'm generally an insomniac and when I do drink it I can never get to sleep.

When I was younger I used to drink a cup of coffee once in a great while, and I wouldn't feel anything at all - actually, sometimes I'd get tired and just go to sleep (just after having a cup of coffee).

Then when I returned to college and was working full time at the same time, I started drinking coffee, and ZAM! I got that kick everyone loved.

And then quit drinking coffee after I graduated.

Know what really makes me pee?

Nova/lido/ultracaine.

The dentist shoots me with the stuff, and 2 minutes later I'm walking across the office to the bathroom with that stupid bib on.

I have always said that caffeine is the drug of the goods. And yes I'm addicted but I can admit it. So I guess that is a step in the right durection.

..regarding stoping drinking caffeine ..you should read this:

http://www.alivefoods.com/coffee.html

"The effects of caffeine on the body are well researched, but you never hear about it in your newspaper. You never hear about it anywhere because the whole nation, if not the whole world, is addicted to caffeine. Doctors, journalists, scientists, writers, everyone drinks coffee. Those whose job is to inform us are usually heavy coffee drinkers. And few of them ever rise up to speak against this popular drug."

Wow, "The Great Caffine Conspiracy". Where is Oliver Stone when you need him. The rat bastard is probably out getting a cup of coffee.
