Cables for Wireless Mics

Hi,
I have some Seinnheiser wireless mics and I would like to stop placing the mic on speakers at events to record sound. What are some cables that I can get so that anytime I meet a DJ, I can have a cable that can connect to his soundboard and get cleaner sound?
I have the Evolution series mics....Are there any settings I need to change on the receiver or camera? I assume all I would need to do is change the input on the camera to line level for that XLR.

Thanks.

Do you mean a cable to connect the DJ's board to the wireless transmitter for a radio hop to the camera or do you mean a cable to connect direct from the board to the camera, eliminating the wireless from the loop altogether?

Yeah I am talking about a cable to attach to the receiver so I can get audio board quality sound wirelessly.

Some guys have RCA outs, some XLR outs. I am just wanting all the cables so I never have issues.

The link above did help though. I need the 1/8th inch cable that goes to female XLR for hooking up to most XLR out soundboards seems like.

The cable from the RECEIVER to the CAMERA won't change - you would use the one you're using now. There is absolutely no change in anything on the receiver or in the camera settings. If the receiver is outputting a mic level signal, it does so regardless of whether the transmitter is fed a mic level or a line level signal.

What you need is the cable for the board to the transmitter that will take the line level board output and put it into the transmitter at line level. Yes, the female XLR to 1/8" CASENEK100XL24 looks like the right one to get - the other one with the female XLR is for mic level outputs. They aren't interchangeable, by the way ... the line level cable puts the signal hot, XLR pin 2, on the 1/8 connector's ring while the mic level cable puts the signal hot on 1/8 connector's tip. The you can get a XLRM to 1/4 adapter to let you connect to boards with 1/4 outputs instead of XLR.

The line input cable for the pocket transmitter is the Sennheiser CL-2. This is a 3-pin XLR socket to a lockable 3.5mm mini-jack.

The CI 1-N is the same thing but with a standard ¼" jack instead of the XLR.

Both these connect to the line input of the transmitter (ie: mini-jack connected to ring and sleeve only).

The line-out cable from the receiver (CL 100 or CL 500) would have been supplied with the kit when you bought it.

HOWEVER

Connecting the transmitter will only give you half the audio as the transmitter is mono. If you want stereo this way, it's better to buy an IEM system (eg: ew 300 IEM G3 and connect the stereo transmitter to the sound desk and have the receiver on the camera - you can then put the stereo sound from the desk into the camera. NB: be careful with the output level as the receiver can drive headphones, be careful with the level and you'll be fine.

I hope this helps.
