C4D .aep files?

Hey everyone,

I seem to be having trouble importing my 3D-data from C4D to After Effects. And by trouble I mean... I dont know how to do it. Every time I try to open the '.aep' files with after effects, I just get this error saying it's not a valid win32 application. If I try to open the file internally (within AE using file/open) it just says 'could not open file'. So I'm pretty much stumped at that point... and I can't seem to find much literature about this process online.

Anyone have any insight?

Hmm, Ok, well I opened my project file (which is actually a '.aec' file, my mistake)... and saw the two compositions.

I put a keyed image in the 'camera+light' comp, then switched over to the 'CINEMA 4D Composition', but the image doesn't seem to match up with the original camera movement. It is close, but slides around a little. I don't know if this is how layering footage on in AE is supposed to be done. Does anyone know of any tutorials for this specific process?

Thanks.

It's pretty seamless, so your error is probably due to a simple mistake. Maybe you can describe in detail what you're doing and/or post a project file.

You should be able to Google something or check the manual for how it should work.
