BzzzPOP!!!!

Is the last sound a laptop makes after spilling the tiniest droplets of lemonade on the keyboard.

Ask me how I know.

Better yet, don't.

:furious3::kali:

****! that sucks .. i spilt a whole glass of wine on my powerbook across the keyboard and it popped and shut down.. i dried it out, let it sit for a few days then it booted right up.

Coffee: that teaser looks rad.

WHEEEEEWWWWWW . . . .

I let it dry out overnight, and it booted. The space bar sticks a little, but if that's the worst to come of it, then o-tay!

"BzzzPOP!!!"? Wasn't that a Hanson song? :cheesy: :)

Glad to hear your laptop is up and running again.

It bites when computer gear goes down. Recently, I had a 400GB external HD go bad that contained about 20 hours of footage. I had to buy a new drive and recapture all the video before I could continue. :(

Damn!

I thought you were handing out candy to the first 10 DVXusers to post...

Edit:
Glad to hear the laptop was not KIA

Okay, so it "popped", but none of the smoke got out, right? 'Cause electronics are all powered by smoke. If you ever let the smoke out, things quit working, so I guess if it booted up that means that all the smoke is still inside, right?

It's funny you say that Barry...when I went to school for electronics that was the first lab they had us do. After telling us the story that "letting the smoke out" causes electronic equipment to no longer function they gave us several components (resistors, LEDs, etc) and had us hook them up to DC power generators, then crank the power up slowly until the smoke came out. Then we had to test properties of the component to see if it was still viable.

It was an amusing lab experiment, but boy did that lab stink after burning all those components up. :)

One of the first comments I made was "there wasn't any smoke, so maybe it's OK."

Now, to figure out if the keys just pop off or if they're glued and it's a one-way trip.
