Buzzing with tram lav mic?

I have a quiet humming/buzz coming from my tram mic... The first time I heard it in the headphones, I tried switching the cable and made sure it wasn't touching electric cables or lights, and it didn't go away, then it seemed, at the time that when I applied pressure to the headphone jack that it would come and go so I figured it was just a headphone jack issue and not a sound issue... watching the footage I see I was wrong... since both cables did it and the batts in the tram are fresh, and I have shot 2 hours since then with no problems, can anyone offer advice on what this may be and how to fix it? Also how bad a problem is it ie: how hard to fix in post (it seems to diminish significantly if I lower the volume slightly)
Thanks!

I imagine since it's a lavalier mic it must have a preamp, the gain must be extremely low or even line input level to recieve no buzz. No phantom power if it has it's own battery. Also, if it has it's own battery the majority of the cable run should be after the little pre-amp. Sorry I don't have time to look up the mic you speak of, but that's my immediate impression, especially if it's a steady buzz and not an up and down sort of thing.

there is no preamp that i know of, it's the tram tr-50 connected to a mic cable to the dvx, and i have used the same setup many times before and a few times since with no problems...

any other throughts? it does have a small watch sized battery in the lav mic where it connects to the xlr cable and clips onto a belt, and i didn't have phantom power on... ?

Is the camera plugged into AC, or running off the battery? If you are plugging into AC, then you could have dirty power. I've seen that happen several times with cameras.

aha dave! yes it was plugged in as it was a sit-down interview... hm, is there a solution to this problem? should i send it in to panasonic (i'm still within a year) or will i be bidding farewell for an indefinite amount of months?
thanks!
