Buying Sound equipment in Seattle

if you already know exactly what you want, why bother buying local?
There are 100 places online to get it from.

I'm going to be in seattle and wanted to find out if I can buy it for a reasonable price (perhaps not the best price) there. I like buying from local stores.

The best bet on of the Marantz is to buy an Oade Brothers modified (but brand new using modified pre amps) unit on-line. Why? because if you want clean audio using mic to recorder a stock unit won't do, they need new clean pre amps. I know this well, I have a stock 671 and it needs to have a mixer in front of it to get clean recordings. It really pissed me off when I got it and found the unit wasn't at all clean as I expected. Going line in, using a mixer, makes it clean, but there are times (gathering ambient sounds in nature) I would rather only take the recorder than have to lug around a mixer also just to have a clean front end.

Back to finding a Seller: As stated above, if you're in the Seattle area the DVestore way up north in Marysville (40 miles) is a place to look but you'll need to set an appointment, they're a warehouse, and that's "if" they have one in stock. There are a few other places, but I strongly suggest buying a pro performing level unit from Oade rather than a hissy stock unit.
