Buying first lighting kit. Advice please

Customs is a killer! As soon as I spend over $1000 on a product from the U.S I have to pay hundreds just to get it here. Plus they hang onto the item until I fill forms out & send them back... So annoying. I got burnt with the Letus & and that's what's put me off!

I was told once by an Australian customer that anything under $1000 AUS does not attract customs. So, he had me ship his fixtures as separate packages on different days and apparently that worked. As long as you can keep it under a certain amount for each package you should be okay.
