Buying filters in the UK

Hi,

I thought i'd write a quick post to ask for uk dvx users experiences for buying filters.

I'm looking to buy a UV filter and a Polarising filter at least, and was wondering if anyone had and suggestions of where to go? I've googled etc but it all seems confusing, and I never know if I can trust ebay.

I'm using my camera as it is normally, so the normal camera with normal lends hood. I assume I need 72mm filters,

Cheers

yes 72mm is what you need.
had the same problem & found that the cheapest way to get quality goods was to buy from the u.s. unfortunately. almost all the filters (& all other equipment for that matter) recommended on this forum is from an american perspective as most people on here are from u.s. - & the products are so much cheaper from there - providing you order enough stuff to cover delivery & also bare in mind that you may have to pay 17.5% import duty.
having said that i just received b&w polariser & uv filters (highly recommended by users here) along with other stuff from bhphotovideo.com in new york & received them in 4 days without having to pay the import duty. used their global express mail service. have been made to pay import duty when items have been delivered through u.p.s. before - dont know if its just pot luck with the duty but it makes a big difference to the price.
i realise i've gone off on a bit of a tangent & not really answered your question, but importing from the u.s. was the cheapest way for me - just a shame i couldnt go local with my money.
i wish there were more people from the uk, europe etc giving information on good local products & suppliers on this forum, but all the fantastic advice i've been given or found on this site has inevitably led me to buying from the u.s.

Ah thanks for the reply.

The US eh? Damn, yeah that's the problem, the US has so much information available, but the UK seems lacking. I've checked some UK websites but they just seem to charge a huge amount of cash.
