Buying experience with www.oktava-online.com

Has anyone bought from www.oktava-online.com?
They have an on-line shop and sell on eBay as well,
They appear t be an authorized Oktava reseller and their site is plenty of useful details. Just wanted to check here for any direct experience before buying myself.

I'm sure they are a reliable source and a good place for you to try since you are in Italy. At the current exchange rate the price on an MK012 with cardioid cap is about $157 USD ($129 EUR) so that's very cheap.

The cap that you really want, if at all possible, is the Hyper-Cardioid. If you plan to get the 1-cap only kit see if they will do a Hyper for you instead of a Cardioid... Hyper-cardioid and cardioid are not the same.

Sound-Room sells us this mic with the Hyper for $165.

Tks for the valuable information. It looks like that's a good place for shopping. All their products come with a full 2-year warranty in compliance with EC regulations. Also the selling prices include sales taxes (VAT) that account for 17% on the total cost . That means that European buyers who are VAT registered and all International buyers can save an extra 17% off the quoted price.

On a different perspective, I wonder how the MK102 series compare with the AT4051 (cardioid). AT4053-ele (hyper) and AT4041 (cardioid). I've been using an AT4041 for shooting in tight interiors and it worked great in keeping out noise and echo besides being a cardioid. Now I need an hyper but I haven't got the budget for an AT4053 so I'm considering the MK102 due to its excellent ratings from almost all video forums around the Internet. It would be nice if somebody who used both could share his/her experience.

The hypercardoid mic is incredible! And the gentleman that sells them is incredibly nice. I highly recommend going through Oktava-online.
