Buying Deck - please help

I need to get a deck for importing mostly mini DV footage. I dont really use beta or other tape formats but dont mind having that for later down the road. I cant using my camera for importing since the control sucks. What does everyone suggest getting to import footage into FCPHD without any lag when logging footage. Any ideas or comments would help. Thank you so for your time and help.

The sony DSR-11 is a really good deck too, cheaper than the DSR-25 but still does mostly the same thing. Stay away from the cheaper JVC decks, I have heard bad things about them, I would say DSR-11, 25, and 45 are your best bet....Some people also use a cheapo camcorder for uploading footage. The most widely used one is one made by canon (not sure of the model number). It runs around 300 bucks.

Does the canon zr-80 read timecode from the tapes shot in the DVX100a?
My NLE is Final Cut Pro HD.

I'm setting up a post production office in my house so I can do more freelance work (local commercials, weddings, corporate) We have DVCPro, Mini-dv, and beta at the office. As for my home office, the DVX has been serving the dual role of camera and player. I'm thinking a standalone player is a reasonable investment due to the wear and tear on the DVX camera heads. I can dub DVCPro, Beta, VHS from the MiniDV at the office.
As far as purchasing a player for home, is there a significant difference in signal quality between the canon zr 80 and the higher end mini decks (e.g. dsr-11).

It should read the TC fine.

Not really - firewire is firewire.
I use the Canon Elura40.

The DSR-25 offers a small LCD monitor, which is nice for checking the input signal at a glance...it also adds audio meters, which will be mandatory if you are planning on mastering out broadcast commercials.

The DSR-45 adds XLR and Component connections as well.

I'd stay away from the DSR-11...it's a good deck, but I would think that you need the audio meters for what you'll be doing.

Good point. I've been using the audio meters in the DVX... took it for granted the meters would also be featured in the other decks. Thanks
