Buying Accessories in Canada

In Canada the Camera is the accessory, because its cheaper!

Case in point: I just got a quote on matte box and filter accesories for my two new DVX100As.

(All prices listed are in Canadian Dollars)

2 - Vocas Mattebox Kit B as requested are $1,446.00 ea.
2 - 0340-0001 side flag kits with full productionm top flag are $416.00 ea.
Schneider 4x4 Glass filters:
Tru Pol @ $235.00 ea.
UV-410 @ $199.00 ea.
Enhancing @ $484.00 ea.
ND. 3 solid @ $225.00 ea.
ND .6 solid @ $225.00 ea.
ND .9 solid @ $225.00 ea.
ND 1.2 solid @ $235.00 ea.
ND Grads are $399.00 ea.

4089 + (7% Provincial Sales Tax and Another 7% Federal Goods and Services Tax)572.46 = 4661.46 per camera x two cameras = $9,322.92 for matte box/filter additions

Hmmm... lets see..
1 Ziplock bag .05 ea.
rebranded to moisture resistant 4x4 filter bag inner liner 87.50 ea.

Anyone got a spare green card lying around?

It's not really any different in the U.S. for all of that stuff.. Actually, at current Xchange rates,
it all would cost a whole lot more down here.

Vocas mattebox 1299US x 1.25 = 1623.75 Canadian
Side Flag kit 399US x 1.25 = 499 Canadian
Filters . . . . ..

Remind me to order from Canada next time.

No. I don't think mine were any more $$ than any others.. I'll have to find that invoice...
I know I didn't pay $300US for my ND grads... not even close..
 
What kind did you get? Also, I just noticed that his are 4x4; mine are 4x5.65.

I don't see why you would get 4x4.
 
4x4 Schneider... are your P-size vertical or horizontal grad...
The filter holders for those things are $185, that's why I stuck with 4x4's... already had the trays....
 
Vertical. Yeah, the filter trays are a bit much, but I just really need that ability to move the horizon line.
