ok well this is my first post.

basically im looking at buying a used dvx100a. i know the camera has been treated well, and has been taken care of. i just wanted to find out, especially from some of you on here who have done alot of shooting, how many hours of use have you gotten with this camera without problems? and if you have had problems what problems where they and roughly how many hours did you get out of it before the problem occurred? well thanks for your time and any helpful posts would be appreciated

well when you buy your used DVX... try to keep the usage below 200 to 300 hrs. i've only rolled on mine for about 150, but but it has been a tough 150 hrs. Also, ask what type of work this person has shot. I just finished directing a training vid, and my cam op and i got sprayed with semi-diluted acid while we were rolling - not the best thing that ever happened to my DVX. also ask how long they have been shooting for in general. If it's someone's first cam, it may not have been taken care of as well as it could have been. ask if it's been serviced, if they cleaned the heads, what kind of tapes they used... basically like buying a used car...

thanks for the post troypod
ok im actually buying it from a reputeable company that has rented it out. it has been serviced, it has been cleaned regularly, and its mostly been rented out to film wedding from what they tell me. basically they are just upgrading it in a few days with the 100b once they recieve it from panasonic.
