I want to upgrade my editing software but I am debating whether to get CS 5.5 or wait wait for CS6. Or should I just buy CS5.5 and wait for the upgrade?
Buy CS 5.5 or wait till CS6 comes out?

Adobe is moving to a new cloud based subscription program that is a super deal IMO. They will probably announce it at NAB, but for monthly rates they say will start around $49.00 with a one year subscription you are licensed to download any Adobe software you want and any updates during the subscription period are included. It would take a 3 years of subscription to roughly equal the cost of the CS5.5 premium production package.

If your in a hurry, then get it just now.
I've found (from my personal point of view), that each software version that Adobe do for After Effects, doesn't change too much. I'm talking from CS4 upwards. They add some new cool features and pre-sets in every update, but ask yourself what essential features you need After Effects to do. Chances are the current or even older versions will do what you want to do in CS6.
