Buttons made w/ DVD Architect not working

I'm using DVD Architect 2, and I've got my Main Menu put in there, but when I make buttons to link to media they don't show up in the final burned dvd. In other words, (It's for a wedding) the button will be "Ceremony", and the text shows up on the preview menu in dvd architect, but when I burn it onto a dvd, the text isn't there although I can scroll through the different buttons and it will lead to the media. It just doesn't show the text so the viewer can't see what they're going to.

Sorry if this is very confusing. Any help is much appreciated. Tim.

does it disapear when you roll over it, or is it gone totally? also in DVDa is the text in yellow? you may have opacity at zero by accident.

It's gone totally. The text is white, but when it is burned to dvd it there are yellow boxes (I think they're button masks). I'll check the opacity.

No, it's panasonic. Toshibas don't play them?

Thanks to both of you.

EDIT: I'm not seeing an opacity button anywhere. I looked in the manual also, didn't find it. Also, I'd like to get rid of the button masks (I think that's what they're called. When I Preview the project the buttons have a yellow box around them. I don't want those. Thanks. tim.

EDIT 2: Okay, I tried it again and for some reason it worked. Hmmmm. Interesting. I'd still like to be able to change the ugly yellow thing.

the opacity is done with the slider on the color fill, the Alpha setting. click on the color sets of the button and you will see the item with the yellow shading.. change that, either by opacity or color.

The button think may be some wierd bug in the output process that made the disk, or perhaps the disk itself has issues.

I personally can't stand the rectangular highlight ... I usually create a custom mask of some sort that's themed to the DVD (i.e. a Disneyland DVD would have Mickey Ears as the highlight over the objects). DVDA2 can do this, and the online help should be pretty easy to walk you through it. Otherwise, you can easily choose mask, underline, etc. instead of the rectangle.

Toshibas sometimes have issues with displaying button masks (it's a known issue). I have two, and they both do it now and then.

What version of DVDA2 are you using? If you are not on at least 2.0a, update to 2.0b and try again.

Notable Changes/Fixes in Version 2.0a

A bug has been fixed that could prevent text-only buttons from being displayed on a burned DVD when a video was used as the menu background.

Is there a certain website where I can find this walkthough?
Thanks everyone for the help. I'll be a dvd makin mofo before I know it. Tim.

Online help, meaning the help section in DVDA ... I think the help sections in DVDA/Vegas are among the best, and tend to have pretty great examples as well. If you absolutely can't find it after some looking & testing, start another thread asking how.

One more question. Do you know how to make the main menu keep looping? Right now the main menu plays, then just goes black.

Thanks for the help.
