Butterfly Frames

I'm planning on building my own butterfly frames out of conduit pipe and wanted to figure out dimensions. When they refer to 8x8 frames and then 8x8 silks the frame has to be slightly larger than the material so it can be tied inside of the frame. So is it that an 8x8 frame is exactly "8x8" and the 8x8 silk is really a little smaller? Or is the 8x8 silk really "8x8" and the frame is slightly larger? Just want to make sure that if I build frames they'll work with standard overhead materials that I can rent.

Hope I haven't lost anyone...lol

Thanks

Re: Butterfly Frames

According to Matthews (msegrip.com):

6'x6' Butterflies measure approximately 5'8"x5'8". 12'x12' butterflies measure approximately 11'8"x11'8". 20'x20' butterflies measure approximately 19'8"x19'8". 20'x20' bobbinets measure approximately 18'x18'.

Re: Butterfly Frames

Thanks Barry....Are those measurements for the Overhead material or the frames? I'm assuming the materials...
