Business Cards

Scribbling my website on my day-job biz card isn't going to cut it. What site do you use for ordering business cards? I prefer referrals to research

My aunt and uncle own a Sir Speedy, and one summer I boxed/ coalated more business cards than I'd care to count. From what I saw, the quality seemed great... and there's one right near ya.

I also use Amercia's Printer for business cards, sell sheets, etc. If you want to be able to write on it don't get their special UV coating or whatever it is.

Does anybody have a business card worth posting? I'd like to see some really good looking cards!

If you have a very well designed card then pop that bugger in the scanner and show us!

I'm about to order some cards for production services myself and I can't decide which way to go on the design.

Yeah, i used to use vista print, but then i met a cousin i didnt know i had who is a photographer. She made me about 5000 business cards for me each with a different picture on them that she photographed.

Thanks for the replies. I'll start checking these out.

David Van Patten: Nice color.
Patrick Bateman: That's 'Bone'.

I use their big eyeball right now, but am going to go for a custom logo at some point soon. Just don't get the ones that have their ads on them. Pay the $3.99 for some regular ones. I also used them for my last brochures. Very nice and very cheap.

I don't know about "worth posting," but here's my design history through the years (with the more personal info altered to protect me from stalkers like PK):

From the wedding gig days:
FRONT:

The back was black and white with contact info. Boring.

First foray into features:

The back of this was also black and white with contact info. Still boring.

Newest version (about six weeks old):

BACK (finally a full color back!):

I like it when my cards make people take a closer look -- so I tend to design them where you have to take a moment and turn it a couple different ways to check everything out.

Anybody else care to share? Would be nice to see some others...

That's pretty nice Owen! Thanks for posting.

Do they actually look that nice? I've seen some photo quality business cards and they are usually a thinner material then standard business cards... almost like inkjet photo paper cut into cards.

I'd like to do something that nice though... that would be a fun card to hand out. If I posted some of my various business cards throughout the years I couldn't show my face in here anymore. I've had some pretty bad jobs.

They turned out nicely on the print. I was afraid I was getting far too detailed with the screen caps and dvd case art, but it worked. They are on 14pt card stock, so not flimsy like the homebrew stuff or even the VistaPrint free cards.

Speaking of flimsy, lately I have had a few people hand me those translucent "cards" that are really just fancy paper with embossed text. They seem neat, but they sure don't hold up to wear and tear for very long.

Uhrgl, I LOVE American Psycho
Patrick Bateman: Thats bone, and the lettering is something called scylian Rail.
Timothy Price: Cool Bateman Very Cool.
BTW Vista Print Rules.

I used Modern Postcards. I've been very pleased with the quality of their color printing. They've recently added color on both sides.

Here are my cards (which need a redesign, thanks for reminding me!)

I also second 4by6.com. Fantastic quality. A bit on the pricy side (Ooo but their satin finish is so niiiice). If you want cheap but great quality, my ace in the hole is postcardpress.com (don't tell anyone or i'll have to kill you). High quality cardstock, UV coat. 1000 cards for 60 bucks.
