Business Cards?

I like the fact that when you buy the premium cards the Blank Back Side is included. I hate paying extra to have nothing printed on the back of my cards.

Vista print is bollocks - Cards look and feel cheap. My advice, if youre going to put your name out there on a card, make sure your card is quality. Two cards from two guys offering the same price and both have quality show reels - hmmm who to chose. One guys card is cheap rubbish, the other guys looks quality and feels quality - all else being 100% equal, I know who I am calling.

Seconded. All else is rarely equal but shallow as it sounds a good quality card can sway people your way.

Sorry Noel, can't agree with this one. If you feel inclined to spend too much on a really cool business card, so be it. Most of them end up in the garbage anyways. The idea is to get as many of them out there as possible and leave a few with clients in case they want to refer you. (lets hope) Mine get thrown out as soon as I transfer the information to my contact list.

...and do you really pick someone who has a nicer card or a better/bigger yellowpages ad or the best of the best gear to do a job....or do you look at their work...or ask people you trust who they would recommend? (I can't imagine two people having the exact same quality reel...so much so that I couldn't decide on one over the other)

I can't believe anyone chooses a service provider by their card alone...or at least I hope they don't. Especially in the creative arts department.

Oh... and I loved your last film...and I haven't even seen your card!

Remember that the selection is frequently made by people for whom the flashiest zoomiest card is the best indicator of a quality contractor. Stupid and horrible but true.

I've used overnightprints for a couple years. 99% of the time they're great. I've had an occasional order with some color issues, not on all the cards, but maybe 10-15% of them... still... they have premium cards at a great price with fast turn-around.

Even if you flip through a stack of 1,000 cards and find a few tossers... I think it's worth it, considering the normal quality to price ratio. My current card has been good for business and instantly breaks the ice and starts the prospective client asking lots of questions.
