Burning Blu Ray, Mac, FCP and Toast

So we just bought a blu ray burner and Toast (with BD plugin).
I'm trying to burn our first blu-ray film. Output a self contained mov file from FCP (DVCproHD 720p 24) and when I try and burn it in toast there's a source material error. So far, other forums talk about burning h.264 etc files which seems counterproductive. Anyone have an experience/advice?

well i thought Toast would compress however it needs to compress to create the Blu-ray disc...it tries to compress it and then says source error....but im seeing a million reasons why that may happen and no one seems to have been successful...but I can't believe that!

so i compressed an mpeg4 file and toast took it and "compressed" it again and burned it.
However, before I even get that far....once compressor is done I get an mp4 file (same thing happened wit a prores422file). If I open it in quicktime the inspector says the dimensions are right but it looks more 4:3 then anything. Burnt the disc anyway and yes the frame size is all wrong.
In compressor it says width and height 100% and 1440x080 in this case. So I'm still a bit in the dark....thanks
