Burning a project to dvd

I recently filmed a 2 day conference & recorded approximately 7 hours of footage.
I need to put this onto dvd. Obviously this will be split over several dvds which is no problem.
So, what would be the best format to render?
Lets say i fit 1 hour of footage onto a dvd, then could i just render the project into 7 seperate pieces & if so, what would everyone recommend to render?
MP4? or something else?
It was all shot on panasonic dvcpro hd.
Cheers Pete.

You only have one choice for rendering to DVD and that's MPEG-2 for video and AC-3 for audio.
You're in PAL land so use either the "DVD Architect PAL video stream" or "DVD Architect PAL Widescreen video stream" templates.
Be advised that this is 720 X 576 resolution, no matter what your original HD footage was.
If you want an HD DVD, then you have to have a Blu-ray burner.
Since you're splitting it up into 7 discs, I recommend using a custom CBR setting of 8,000,000 for the video portion.
The default template is fine for Dolby Digital AC-3.
Render each one using the same name (i.e. part1.mpg and part 1.ac3, etc.) and to the same folder. That way, when you load the video into DVD Architect, the audio will automatically follow.

Thanks for the tips guys.
looks like the customer might be putting it onto a USB drive instead of several DVDs.
