What I would like to do IF possible. I have seen alot of videos where say the actor pulls a gun and at that point everything freezez except the camera .. as the camera pans around the guy with the gun and then when he shoots we see it from a differant angle... can this be done easy. or is this something that would be to much to be worth trying for someone who has never done it... and.... ive seen poeple talking that you have to have several cameras... can this be done with only one.. as long as the actor/actors were perfectly still?

Thanks
Terry

'Bullet time' (as seen in The Matrix when Neo dodges bullets, it's pretty well explained in the Making Of documentaries) is normally done using multiple identical cameras which all simultaneously shoot the same action from slightly different angles. This is difficult and expensive.

The two obvious 'cheat' alternatives are:
- freeze the action by getting the actors to stay absolutely still, then take multiple stills while zooming around the action on a dolly track. This can work quite well if it's practical for the actors to stay absolutely still (not even blinking or visibly breathing), but is usually a disaster if they're moving or off-balance. It works brilliantly well for filming Lego figures or other stop animation 'actors' - they have no problem staying still :)
- or do it all in CGI
