Any Charles Bukowski fans out there? I absolutely adore him. I've read almost everything he's ever written. What's your favourite book?

Post Office and Hollywood. A few years ago i took up horse-playing and whiskey-drinking while on a Bukowski binge.

Hahaha. Yes, Buk is that poweful. I cannot read much of him without a full glass on my hand.
Post Office is the bomb, but I also realy love Women. I think one of my favorite has got to be Ham on Rye. It makes you understand how rough he had it since he was a little kid. His short stories are very visual. I think some great shorts could be shot.

Definitely. I love Barfly, thought Factotum was weak (loved the book though, the movie was like an amalgam of a bunch of different novels/stories), and I really wanna find a copy of Tales of Ordinary Madness with Ben Gazarra. I love him.

I love "Ham On Rye" as well. One book that always makes the trip with me when I travel is "Tales Of Ordinary Madness". It's a great collection of stories. I've read every story several times and they still bring a smile to my face. Here's to Chuck!

You should also look into "Bukowski: Born into This". It's a cool documentary about his life and work. There's some rare touching footage of his more human and sweet side. Most just like his fiction but Bukowski wrote some beautiful poetry too.
