Im looking to build a new PC video editing system for editing that will work with the HVX200 in DVCPRO HD.

Here are my options;

MB: Supermicro X6DAE-G2
Processor: Dual Intel Xeon 3.4ghz
Ram: 2gigs of DDR2
Video Drives: 400gb SATA
Graphics Card: Nvidia Quadro FX1400 (or) 540v(professional video edition)
Power supply: Antec True550 watt

But which Editing Hardware should I buy???

As far as i have researched: Currently only the Canopus Edius NX and the Avid Express HD systems support edting with the HVX200 in DVCPRO 50 and DVCPro HD. All the others only support HDV.

Are there any options i am missing. Should I worry about a hardware card or just edit software only with the avid Express HD?

ANy advice? Thanks!

Canopus Broadcast is on sale for about $800 right now at Safe Harbor.

From what I hear it works really good.

I am using PP with Raylight. Forget about it.

I have never owned an Apple, never saw one in person until a year ago, but from what I gather, it rocks with P2.

If I was considering a new system right now, I would go with the Apple to be quite honest with you.

If that is not an option, then I would go with Canopus Broadcast, but keep in mind I haven't tested it yet.

I have heard of problems with Avid as well. Stick with Broadcast.
