Building a lighting grid. Need help.

What do I need to rig lights to a lighting grid? I know the lights have the holes that hook up to a C-stand or they can be rigged to hang from the ceiling off the lighting grid.

From what i can tell about looking at lighting grids photos - some of them are just metal poles with clamps that attach that have the 1/2 inch pins that connect with the lights. Then there are special power strips that hang from the ceiling as well...

So where do you buy a lighting grid, and the parts that go along with it to rig lights off of it? Where can i get all that stuff to build a studio?

Make sure whatever you mount the grid to is structurally able to take the potential load, plus a large safety margin.

Not sure how ambitious you're being, but your insurance will probably insist it's certified by qualified structural engineers.

And all your lights should have secondary steel cable bonds.

If you have loads of lights too, then the electricity supply will have to be rated for it. You might even have to get three phase power in. Again, you would legally be required to have this installed professionally.
