Buffy Twilight reveal? Any takers? (spoilers)

Probably really fishing here, even in the Cafe ala DVX section.

Just wondering what people thought about the reveal of who Twilight actually is in Season Eight.

(spoilers)

I was confused for a minute because of Angel's on-going title over at IDW, but then I remembered that the IDW title takes place directly after season five while season eight is years after season seven.

Even though I'm a little let down by the reveal, I have faith that Whedon and Meltzer won't disappoint.

?!

I only read the first 3 issues of S8, so I'm not even sure what you're talking about. LOL

But I've kept pretty much up-to-date with the Angel series, so if the two crossover... should I go back and pick up the rest of BTVS S8? Or can I just continue reading the Angel ishes to find out?

Joss has said that he's going to make sure everything lines up regarding Angel's title. The discrepancy is that Angel's title comes on the heels of his series while Buffy's starts sometime after. So, in a way, Angel's title is always in the past while Buffy's is in the now. Which could help the guys over at IDW always being able to see what's in front of them in the Buffyverse.

You can usually find the Season 8 graphic novels on Amazon for pretty cheap. Did you get a chance to read Fray back when the series was still on the air? That's another Whedon-scribed graphic novel you should check out if you haven't (especially since it comes into play in Season 8).

I already had the entire Buffy set on DVD, but I just picked up Angel since I was sort of in and out the last couple of seasons. So maybe when I'm done with it I'll jump on the Angel graphic novels (I love that IDW does them as hardcovers -- similar to how I have all of my Ultimate Spiderman titles. Too bad Season 8 didn't get hardcovers). The art was always kinda disappointing to me in Angel, though, whereas the Buffy books' art is always kickin. I've heard the stories are equally as good, though.

Well, I'd say most of the Angel (especially variant) cover art is generally fantastic, but the actual pencilling...eh...

If you do eventually get into Angel (you totally should if you liked the show/characters), be prepared for some surprising (to say the least) twists and football-to-the-groin cliffhangers. :nads:
