Budget Fresnel Suggestions

I am looking to expand my lighting ..collection I guess.

Right now, I have:
- 3x Tota lights with umbrellas, stands, and barn doors
- 2x Halogen Worklamps
- 1x 30" china ball at 300W (considering bulbing at 600w though)

And as such, looking to fill in that last (for now) gap with a Fresnel / stand.

I'm considering the CoolLights 650W fresnel as my top choice, $380 shipped with a stand.

Also tossing around the idea of the ImageWest.tv 650W BlueLine fresnel.

Any other options I am missing? Any suggestions for what to look at? The ImageWest and CoolLights almost look like identical lights, and prices are close enough to indicate I might be right, so that may not even matter.

edit: This is for filming short films and whatnot. Basically, going to see the gamut and want to have a decent kit on hand for most situations.

Ebay can be helpful as well. I picked up a 650w ltm pepper for around $100. There are deals to be found you just need to be patient and look for them.

Are you serious?Well im also looking for a new kit think il go the ebay way and see tho im usually put off by the fact that you might just get a raw deal in the end.The defination of "perfect condition" is relative

Ditto on ebay. You can definitely find great buys but you
have to be patient and watch the seller ratings. Look for seller ratings of 98+, 100 being preferable. Arris tend to run high---the better deals seem to be with Mole, Desisti, Altman, LTM. For Chinese Arri knockoffs, Steven Studio has a fantastic cost/value ratio as they tend to be overlooked.

Another hit for Ebay. I just bought a 1K Mole fresnel for $250 w/ shipping. It's in excellent shape and the control a fresnel fixture gives you over DIY solutions is so much better!

No secret. Just use good judgment and by that I mean "Feedback Ratings".
Use that as your first guide. Then read the detailed feedback that is posted. If anyone has ever been conned by a particular seller, they are going to post it.

I've already received the light and it's working perfectly ;-). I bought the 1K from user "billscamera1938" and i do believe he has another 1K on buy it now. " light*it*up " sells totally overhauled mole fixtures for really good prices as well and they're legit.

They have to send it to you on ebay once you pay for it. It's pretty much a binding contract. Also you can usually get your money back from papal if you do not recieve the item.

Does anyone know if you have to pay an import tax on Steven Studio's stuff here in the US?

Oh, and imagewest.tv and some cheap Fresnel's and cool lights too. They both seem to be out of 1k lights for some reason.
