budget for a (super?) low-budget horror movie?

wondering what the budget might be for something like this-- something clearly much lower than what hollywood would call low budget, but more than a micro-budget movie made with the producers friends.

Im currently fascinated by this production scale- where the moviemakers have enough money for decent production value, but may not have had the talent(s) to pull anything off. This movie in particular had some solid makeup/gore effects, passable cinematography (not great, but didnt look too "cheap"), and basically was sunk by script and performances (not by budget).

maybe its an unanswerable question- take a shot please.

wondering how much these guys raised, and if these cats are out making another movie

EDIT: Ill look up budgets for Wynorski's movies or Corman's Sharktopus. Not that this info would necessarily be accurate.

Looks like 1.5M easily, especially considering the age.

As far as script goes, that's to be expected.

Considering one guy wrote, produced, directed, shot, edited, did efx and art direction. Only money shot was the bus blowing up.
