Brushless gimbal on a Steadycam

I just found some very interesting clips you really need to see:

Although it's amateur footage, it's still good enough to make the case for a brushless gimbal on a steadycam like stabilizer. So here's what I'd like you to try: Put a brushless gimbal on a steadycam rig, shoot some footage, and post it on Youtube.

You're gonna love what you see and so will everybody else.

Let me know when the link is up. I can't wait to see it.

Hi , as a steadicam operator, I will say that companies who are ready to put brushless gimbals adapted on ANY steadicam sled, and sell as a concept, they will be violating the MK-V alien, and alien Revolution patent which is still active and will be for many years.

Hi Charles, nice to meet you here again! As a 5% change is enough to avoid patent violations a 2 or 3 axis system connected to a steadicam sled should be alright. Only a system with one gyro stabilized axis for roll will violate the Mk-V or alien patents, regardles if they use a roll cage or a double L bracket like the original alien:

I have plans for both, a 2 and a 3 axis system but only the the 2 axis system will have the ability to go from ground level to above the head during the take. But I need to wait until I finished a upcoming feature project in the next 2 months.

Best regards,
Andreas

Howard doesn't have a patent, Lynn Nicholosen holds the patent and has assigned it to Tiffen
