I'd like to know how Aveillan acheived the look at :35secs (in the "A Journey" vid you linked to)...I've seen never that.

How do you know these effect were done in AE? He doesn't mention that anywhere.
Would be curious to know about the techniques he used if he did indeed do it in post...

I posted about Ruben Latre about his color correction... who some say his a student of Bruno's style... but I thought I read some where that Latre uses lens wacking to do the same thing...

I love playing with this stuff. I'd say a great place to start is buy a few beat up lenses and take them apart, get the lens elements, grease then up, tape stuff to them, and place them in front of the lens you are shooting with and just play all day with it.
