Broadcast times for satellite vs. cable

Is it possible that satellite provider A who offers the same channel/network as cable provider B has different airing times for their broadcast content? My girlfriend currently has cable but wants to switch back to satellite. She claims that when she got cable she could no longer watch her country music videos in the morning on CMT during her workouts because CMT was not playing videos at that time any more. Could it be just a coincidence that CMT changed its line-up at the same time she switched?

I only have rabbit ears at home and haven't really watched TV since the last episode of LOST (it still hurts).

satellite is broadcast to everyone at the same time regardless of their time zone, sometimes with +1, +2 channels(offset or delay of 1 or 2 hours). so if the cable company broadcasts in their right time zone their might be a shift of a few hours.
