Is there a way to get FCP to out put each sound track as its own seperate Aiff?

how do you use the "compression filters" and which is best for boadcast standards?
what exactly do these filters do? my basic understnading is that they sort of work like the "legal colour" filters and keep highs and lows a little closer together... is that right?

what dB should the peaks be at?

any other advice for onlining? thnx.

(i intend to render out the video as one big uncompressed quicktime to save the hassel of using tapes.)

To output just one track just select (highlight) the track you want. Use Export-AIff, and watch the wheel spin. The Compression filters do just as they say, compress the signal, your analogy is a good one.

I understand all that on a basic level.
what I was looking for was some detail about how to use those filters....
have you had a look at those compression filter settings? there are alot of variables. and there are several of those filters

which is best and how do you use it? thnx
