Broadcast Legal Colors Question

I know how to tell if colors are broadcast safe, but after testing some of my footage, I've noticed in a couple clips there is a small spike in the saturation that goes out of the boundaries of the six color targets on the vectorscope. Usually only a very small area on the screen and for a short amount of time, like a lens flare from my fisheye converter or my friends neon orange beanie. I wouldn't think that it's a big deal but I've come here just to make sure.
Thanks:)

It is a big deal, and it will get bumped back to you. The QC people can be VERY strict...and they have equipment that emit beeps when something strays over the legal limit. Depends on the network, but typically they are strict as can be.

Would it even matter if it wasn't being broadcasted? I should have mentioned this in my first post but that will be the case for me. Only will be shown locally, and I also plan on selling a bunch of DVDs to people in my area.
