Broadcast Colors In Vegas 5 ???

Hello,
How to use Broadcast Colors In Vegas 5 actually? I cannot see a difference when applying it. So? What is the purpose???

It's mostly an NTSC thing. However, there's a big difference between what a TV can display and what a computer monitor can display (even in PAL) -- it helps keep you within that difference. What looks good on a computer screen might not look good at all on a TV.

The broadcast colors crops at 100 ire and 7.5 ire or 100 ire and 0 ire to reduce noise in a broadcast picture. So if you are between 100 and 7.5 or 100 and 0 (Depending on the setting) you will not notice a difference when applied. It comes in handy when you push the envelope of your peaks of your video in the vector scopes. Ex. crush the blacks or blow out your whites.

Fire up your vector scopes and you will see what I am talking about. Adjust your saturation until the video is above 100 ire then apply broadcast colors and it will chop it at 100.

Hope this helps!
