Britek Softbox assembly

First post here. Glad to find you folks. I've never used a softbox before. Just got the GY-650 in the mail today. Yikes! How do you get this assembled? I'm running out of time fast and am flying out tomorrow to use it in an interview.

The instructions arn't helping. The box sags and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. Thinking that the studs need to be pointed out on the base instead of up but I'm afraid of tearing or breaking something. Do you bend the steel pedestals or what? I would be VERY grateful if you would tell me how to assemble this thing as if you were the one writing the directions for their product. Users know best!

I've search the site and the net and though I found a reference to the fact that this was covered here, I can't find where.

Thanks

Kind of hard to explain in text without photos but If the Britek softbox assemble the same as Arri's I'll give it a try.
I'm assuming you have three basic parts. The speedring that attaches to the light. The softbox fabric and the 4 metal rods. Correct?
If so, attach the speedring to the light.
Then feed the four rods into the pockets on the fabric.
Now take the rods and feed two opposite rods into the slots on the speedring - i.e. Top left and bottom right...
Yes the rods are going to bend very much.
Then take the other two and you kind of have to force them into the slots. They too will bend but should force out the slack.

Hope this helps????

Lay the speed ring on the floor. Start with the studs pointed up. Insert the rods (with the fabric already on the rods). Then you want to lay the studs flat so that they point out from the speed ring (this will cause a lot of flexing of the rods). You'll want to do as Sirius said and do two opposing rods at a time. It should work for ya.

When you lay the studs out the speedring end should sortof pop into place (you will notice the recepticles are spring loaded). Once you figure it out you should be able to put it completely together in under a minute if you are rushing.

hope they developed a better speed ring, the screws stripper out of mine from the force of stretching the box. Had to tape the crap out of them.

That happened with mine, too. I just ran bolts with lock nuts through it. It's not coming apart for anything, now.
