Well, I found another problem with Briteks, I think. I was shooting an interview tonight with a G-300 in a softbox. Got through the interview and everything's all good. When I took the softbox off, though, the saftey glass or "lens" of the light was shattered. I'm pretty sure it's because the bulb was actually touching the glass as I had it in full "flood mode" (as if it makes a real difference anyway.) I had never noticed that the bulb actually touched the glass so I'll be careful in the future.
The broken glass is no big deal, it's just that replacing it will likely be a pain in the arse. It's not like a Mole or Lowel where I can just hop online an buy a replacement part. I'm worried it will take a few weeks through Britek's "service" center. Does anyone know where I could just buy some glass already cut in circles? I've dug around online and haven't found anything. But I'm wondering if anyone has seen something like that sold anywhere? It seems like that wouldn't be hard to find, but I can't come up with anything. Thanks.
