i am trying to get footage shot on the Red One at max res into Final Cut to edit but I think I may need a specific codec or something. im kind of stuck here.
ok, i'll look through, i was just trying to dig up a quick answer because a friend ran into a sudden deadline and doesnt know where to start (his first time with the red) and i don't even use one (not part of the project, just got a call for advice)

It's all there my son. You must install the FCP plugin and you get QuickTime and FCP updated. That said- RED's workflow is about as far from drag and drop as it gets. Your friend's deadline might have to slide a bit.
