Brick Battery?

On page 32 of the April issue of DV magazine there is a feature article on Danny Bonaduce's making of his reality show which was filmed with the DVX100A camera. In one of the pictures there is a shot of the camera on a jib crane and what looks like a larger style "brick" battery attached to the back of the camera. I am trying to figure out if this is what I saw and who makes a battery that big with a special mount to fit onto the camera.

I have seen the Anton Bauer product before but that doesn't mount straight to the camera. You need that Stasis system for it work. They do have a QR-DVX which is a mounting plate for their batteries to be used with the DVX100 line of cameras. What I saw in that picture was a battery that was mounted right on the back of the camera.

I saw that and i wrote dv mag but noone ever got back to me on that. if any one has a clue on how to get one id love to know about it.

If you aren't using the stasis (which is pretty nice, but very expensive) or another shoulder mount adapter, you would definately not want a bauer brick mounted on the back of your camera, it would totally throw the balance off, although on a jib, that's not an issue

New York I agree. In the picture it was on a jib. I could use a brick type battery with my DV RIG Pro though now that I think about it.

The guy who directed it posts here on the boards, send him a message.

I think the article said they taped extra batteries onto the back of the camera to add weight for the jib. I don't have the magazine with me right now so I'm not positive that's what it said.
