So I have this shoot in 7 hours involving my HVX and Redrock M2 and all is well in the world.
Rewind to 18 hours ago when I realized I had a scratch on the ground glass of my M2. I fired up the cam and while the scratch was not visible at normal shutter speed, at 1/120 or faster it was painfully obvious. I'm thinking I have this hip hop video shoot coming up in just over 24 hours and I just know that high shutter speeds are on the menu. So I'm freaking out at this point. What to do??? I send a panicked email to Brian Valente, the king of all things Redrock to see if there is a replacement gg anywhere in L.A. that I can purchase immediately.
So not only did I get a quick response, I got a quick solution to my problem. He invited me over to his house. I brought my M2 with me and he fixed me up. He replaced the gg, got everything aligned, and hooked me up with some cool Redrock shwag. He did all this and didn't charge me a penny.
This is actually the second time he has saved my butt in a pinch. The first time I needed a 82mm/72mm step-down ring and nobody in L.A. had one. Same deal, he hooked me up in time for my shoot.
So there you have it. Brian is a total badass and Redrock rocks. Buy thier stuff.
