Im going to purchase the HD kit from cinevate. Im wondering what else I need? And can anyone sell me on lense that is effective for 35mm output in post. Please & Thanks.

What kind of camera do you have?

Most likely you will need an Achro and Brevis as a bare minimum, but I recommend getting rails and a brevis to rails mount also. Keep in mind that Cinevate's rails are 5/8" instead of the more standard 15mm so there will be a little slop with some of the accessories. For eg. I have redrock rails but the brevis to rails mount. The rails are 15mm but the mount (support) is 5/8" so there is some slop when tightening it down. Just a FYI.

The reason I asked what camera you have is because Dennis offers a new diffuser called CF1L with the L standing for Large cameras. Why it matters is something I will never understand but it works better with slower, longer or zoom lenses. This diffuser (last time I checked) wasn't available on the site yet so you would have to talk to Dennis about getting that with your order.

I would personally register on the Cinevate forum also.

Hope that helps a little.

Thank you good sir.

an HVX to answer your question.

And a good lense to be using with the intention of a 35mm print?

hmm never thought about that. Never used lenses before on a video camera.
Is there a page or somewhere I can obtain information on which lenses I might want and why?

Buying a set of prime lenses for the brevis would be very similar to buying a set of primes for a film camera with a couple exceptions: You wouldn't be buying Cine style lenses with PL mounts.

Instead, you would try and obtain a set of primes to cover most shooting situations; maybe a 28mm, a 35mm, a 50mm, an 85mm, and a 105mm. Try and buy the fastest lenses you can buy; fstop 1.4 over 2.8 for example.

You don't need to buy all of them at once. Remember, you no longer have a zoom lens, so in order to change the "zoom" you would need to either move the camera closer or change lenses.

I'd do a search on brevis lenses (or even M2) to see what comes up...
