Brevis35 vs. Go35Pro

I know I've read in many posts that they aren't comparable because the Go35 is a static adaptor, but in any case, these are the two that I am considering. For those who have these adaptors, what are some advantages and disadvatages of these two?

I'm trying to make a list of +/-'s of each so I can make a better informed decision.

Right now the Go35 is the better option for me because for the same money it costs to get a Brevis, I could get a lense, rails, and Go35.

Thanks, Chris

it doessnt lose anymore light than anyother adapter..... so thats a not abnormal. :)

The brevis will be more flexible, in that you can stop down the 35 lens iris if you want without grain.

But ive lately gotten back into my Go35, i forgot the beautiful texture and soft yet somehow still sharp image quality it has. it has a definite "look" though. its like a filmstock. it warms up images a little, and adds a nice lift to the dark parts of the image. looks really nice in SD, and is useable in HD, but only for sequences where a little grain is ok.

I use it for Video art stuff, and talking head interviews, because it makes people look great.

Dont for get to look in to the Sgpro either. it comes with rails ETC, for about 950$.

Brevis/Sgpro/M2: More flexible apetures.

Though the M2/SGpro also offer more flexible Shutterspeeds.

Go35. Youre stuck at F1.4 -F2.8 other wise grain shows up.

But the adapter is Shutter speed indifferent. you can shoot up to 1/2000 a sec with no problmes.

oh one other thing, the Go35 has interchangeable Diffusers as well.
theres a thin option, that loses less light, lets you stop down more with no grain, but has a hazy bokeh, and theres a thicker option that loses a touch more light, develops grain quicker, but has a GORGEOUS bokeh, thats deep rich, and stunning to look at. i prefer the thicker option, it just loosk so good.

ive been doing some testing, and its very useable in HD. thereis a touch of grain, but its not noticeable unless youre looking or it. i have re-discovered the Go35 pro... and im a happy camper.

Agreed, the polymer/wax thing has it's own special look. Our ongoing R&D program is being extended to a hybrid/polymer solution so Brevis users will be able to take advantage of both the great bokeh and dust tolerant features of a moving imaging element. Our approach is quite different, meaning we're expecting outstanding light efficiency too. Should have news on this by mid-summer.

Sweeet. It just keeps on getting better with the Brevis. It seems the Brevis design leaves much more additions and upgrades than the others.
