A lot of my work at the moment consists of shooting interviews in available light, often indoors. I'd love to take the plunge into the wonderful world of the 35mm adapter. If spent the last couple of days researching adapters.
Is the Brevis35 the best option for me? From what I can tell, it has two properties that make it the best choice for shooting interviews when there's very little opportunity to light and very little set-up time:
1) As I understand it, the Brevis is the most "light efficient" and, in particular, has an apparently magic property which means that you get the same exposure no matter if the "front" lens is at f1.4 or f4. Not only does this mean that the Brevis can be used in lower light than the other adapters but it also means the you can stop down to f4 to get a slightly deeper DOF to help when shooting docs (i.e. when the subject and/or camera are moving so focussing would be near impossible if the DOF is only a few centimetres).
2) The Brevis is the easiest to setup.
Am I correct?
As I understand it, the main downside to the Brevis is that it can be prone to vignetting, especially when using wide lenses. Is this still a problem with the most recent revision of the Brevis? Is the Brevis the only adapter with the "magic property" mentioned above?
Many thanks,
Jack
