Brevis & Stock HVX footage?

if i do a short film with half of it shot with stock HVX lens and the other shot using HVX/Brevis adapter will the footage look noticeably different?

This question is really applicable to normal adapters and I have been wondering myself. Why I haven't tried? Beyond me.

I'll try today and upload some footages!

I have an M2 by the way, but it's the same concept.

you can keep the wides stock, and the mediums and closeups with adpter, though i HIGHLY reccomend once you use adapter to stick with it. the footage will match better.

I didn't have time to grab off and on footage today. =( Maybe tomorrow after real shoot.

glad you started this topic. i just shot a music video with some wides with the stock dvx lens and the rest with my letusFE and i don't know what i was thinking but i thought it would mix well, but my stock footage is a whole lot sharper. i'm going to mess around next week to see if i can get any scene settings for my stock shots to look closer to how it does with the letus on. does anyone have any settings already that might work? (or ideas in post to make the already shot footage look more like the letus footage?)

When anyone does a comparison of stock footage generated by any camera against adapter footage (on the same camera), aside from shallower DOF (and sometimes less sharper images) you have to keep in mind the increased latitude the images from the adapters will provide:
The light does not strike directly the CCD/CMOS trough the lens of the camcorder anymore. You a shooting the image off the GG. That image has less contrast than the same image the camcorder alone would record. However, that IS an advantage in scenes with high contrast ratios (bright sun/shadow of a tree scene).
The better image would come from a camcorder/adapter. In the studio (CTRL-ed lights) you can "paint" the set and get the light levels in the camcorder's range.
Anyway, the looks are different and mixing them is ultimately a matter of taste (yours or the audience). If you think is OK, but other people "see" the mix otherwise, don't get upset. Learn the difference (to your advantage). I remember a while ago someone using the MPIC for the "dream scene/flash back" with success. The rest of the footage was straight from HVX200. The different look was supported by the story and therefore the mix was OK.
