Brevis Rail system limitations?

Will the rail system included in the Pre-Flip Brevis allow for rails to go back also?
I am planning on getting the following setup:

_ HVX
_ Brevis
_ 7.6" longest lens
_ Redrock Follow Focus + Matte Box

I would like to be able to fit these in the front end but will also need to get the rails going back far enough to attach two batteries to run the Carrion that Siniarch is selling.
I am planing on using his suggestion of dual Tekkeon batteries with his rubber mounts to suspend them behind the camera for better balance, found here: RM-Tekkeon02
The batteries can be found here: Tekkeon

So will the rail system allow for rails to go back also and will the ones that come with it be long enough?

Our 60cm solid carbon rails will do the job for you, and allow about 15-20cm rear projection. They were designed so support our own rails mounted 12V power supplies behind the camera for better balance...just as you're planning to do. Just give us a call after ordering the pre-flip (or note in your order notes what you'd like) and we'll just bill you the difference between the 45cm and 60cm solid rods :-)

Great Dennis!!!

Excellent news!

Do you think I could also do the same with elements? You were just explaining in an other thread about light loss and zoom lenses when you mentioned your new element called the CF1Le works best with Zoom lenses which I am planning on getting... so I would love to replace the rods and the GG to pay the difference!

EDIT: I wonder how the Cartoni Focus will fare with everything mounted?

CF1Le is shipping standard (providing you select it when ordering) so no need to change anything there. Any follow focus that mounts on standard 15mm rails will work just fine with our system :-)

Oh, I didn't realize that. Good, so I'll make sure and select it!

One more question... how heavy are the solid 60mm rods?
I am pushing my Cartoni Focus to the limit as it is...

Oh... Dennis, it looks like your 60mm rails are carbon fiber and they don't seem to e solid by looking at the picture...? Are you talking about an other set of rails? Or would I be ok with the carbon hollow ones?

I am quite concerned with weight at this point and I would guess I'd be fine with the normal hollow carbon ones? Right?

The pics in the catalog need updating..but basically all of our 45cm and 60cm rails are now solid carbon. They're half the weight of stainless in comparable lengths, and 75% stiffer. After over a year of tweaking our rails, we're finding that the extremely low flex characteristics of this rail material is a big improvement when using longer lengths like the 45cm and 60cm systems. This keeps focus racks rock solid, improves car-mount performance etc. ... and let's not forget that they look stunning on the rig :-)

45cm solid carbon rod = 123 grams
60cm solid carbon rod = 163 grams

This is not a huge consideration but they will also survive a truck driving over them....something I couldn't claim for our hollow rods. Our only package ever damaged by fedex during shipping was a tube with a set of hollow rods in it. From the looks of the pics, one of their guys backed a truck over the tube. We've got video coming of the re-test compliments of one our friendly fedex team :-)

Well I was sold but I am glad to know they are not that heavy at all...
...carbon sure is expensive but well worth it for the lower flex when using adapters and such. It is very nice to hear it again from you. I like that you only sell carbon now.

0.36 lbs for the 60mm that's nothing!

Haha... FedEx sux! They banged up a set of Event 20/20 speakers and I had to replace both woofers! UPS for the win! :)

BTW, not to be shallow or anything :) but the carbon rods do make rigs look ten times better :D
