Brevis Question please help

The Brevis uses a vibrating element -- the vibrating eliminates (or reduces for those who wish to argue) the grain patterns on the ground glass. If you're running wide open, you might not notice it, but stop down a bit and you'll start seeing the static grain. In fact, stopping down to around f16 and focusing on the grain is how you set your backfocus.

You do not alway need to turn on your brevis. It can be uses off. (specially in sd) If it is off you risk some grain and your lens will have to be wide open.

I'd also add that although sometimes the gg grain looks cool in still shots, it can be an issue when viewing motion because it looks like a dirt layer is floating in front of the imagery (so make sure you turn it on).
