Brevis, any non-cinefuse imaging elements out there?

Hi, anyone try non cinevate imaging elements on their brevis? I'm wondering if there are non cinefuse options out there that will give different or more pleasing bokeh.

thanks!

I've never heard of anybody trying something like that. Which CineFuse elements have you tried? I think the CF3 is supposed to have nicer bokeh.

I've tried the 1 and 3. The CFone is very classy looking in that it doesn't scream "look at my DOF, watch me rack focus beeotches!" The CFthree is like swimming in blurr. The DOF is very shallow, I suppose it's what the kids jizz after these days. I'm not sure about the quality of the bokeh yet. I see sgpro footage and I'm like blown away by the bokeh but at the same time the DOF and bokeh of the SGpro is not something I would want for all my shots, it can get quite contrived shot after shot. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm looking for an imaging element that has the subtlety of the CFone but with the pleasing bokeh of the sgpro.. I know a lot of DIY guys have experience with many different off the shelf GG's, so I was wondering if I could test these out on the Brevis to explore different looks.

Yeah, I should probably drop some bones on that one, however Dennis has been hinting about a new one that's supposed to blow yer socks off, so I may hold off and wait..

oh hey Jason, I just watched your short film and totally loved it. Killa job yo!

Was that done with the Brevis? Which Cinefuse did you use?

I have try various screens except of Brevis and the results are very pleasant. The only problem that I still have, is the light loss which is in the range of 1 - 1,2 stops... The bokeh is beautiful and the brevis is stoping down to 22 with no vignetting. Also the edge sharpness is much better due to the design of the element.

As I said in the past, Brevis is the perfect test bed for screen research. That makes the adapter always updated to the advances of screen technology.

All the problems that puzzle us, are 100% fixable to the screen level. Even edge sharpness can be fixed considerably with the right element.

So don't be afraid to play, just do it with the cautions that are needed for such a delicate job.

Evangelos, where can I find elements that will work with the brevis?

Jason, wow just one lens, keepin it simple, coo.
