Brevis 35 Footage Quality

I am very interested in the Brevis35. I love what it does with D.O.F. The test footage I've seen here looks great, but I would love to see a full resolution clip (not something compressed for the web). A 720 24p DVCPROHD Quicktime file straight out of Final Cut Pro would be perfect.

I know it's a big file to host, but it would help me out a lot to decide if I want to spend $1000 on this thing (plus buy a portable camera monitor that I can flip the image on). I'm sure it would help others, too.

I want to import this uncompressed clip into my Final Cut Pro system and play it next to some HVX200 footage without the 35mm adapter. I need to decide if I can live with the lower quality/resolution footage to gain the shallow depth of field benefits.

It would be nice to see a close up and a wideshot (often times lenses fall apart on wide shots).

Can anyone provide this footage??? I would be very happy!

I asked the guys at Brevis if I could rent from them to do a test, but they said it will be a few months before they will have rental units.

Thanks!!!

Perhaps motionzoneHD has some Brevis footage?

Those guys have seen a ton of HVX200 footage. I wonder how the 35mm adapter footage looks compared to the footage without the adapter. Does the HD quality suffer with the Brevis?

Hello Jason,
Not yet. We have some redrock footage from Motivity. Bob Gandu has some Brevis footage. I think it is on the Brevis site. Contact Bob and see if he can send you some footage?? I would love to have his last stuff on the site....

Thanks guys.

Bob's footage is on the site, but it is compressed for the web (small window). I'm looking for full quality clips that I can bring into my editor for critical comparison.

Maybe Bob would send me a DVD Data Disc with his uncompressed quicktime files on it? I would be willing to pay him (or anyone els with quality Brevis35 footage) some money for this service.

hi - i´ve downloaded the file - but it just don´t play - is it a special codec?
thanks!

Seems like the Mac DVCProHD files cannot play on PC's. Are you on a PC? You actually do need the DVCPro codecs to play these files. They get installed with FCP.

Your wife is just gorgeous and your da man!
That iFocus produces a nice Dof...
Anyhow, I finally had another Ahhhhhh! experience.
Last time was with the first G35 vids... I´m still hoping...

Bob, thanks very much for posting those up. The diffuser option will soon be in your hands so you can play some more :-) Spart, it's a Brevis.

Ups,
my mistake...
Wait, let me search for a fine excuse: well it is almost 3 o´clock in the morning here and I worked to long... Na, I just f***** things up...
BUT I REALLY LIKE THE IMAGES THE - brevis - PRODUCES!!!
Hell, it really is 2:30 in the morning, gotta catch some sleep...

thanks for converting for us pc users :) looks good, but not really sharp - wasn´t it completely in focus or is this how the brevis looks?

thanks once more!

I did this test when I first got the adapter. Since then I've learned a few tips. I shot this with the 50mm 1.4 at fully open. I also think the HVX was wide open too. I now try to shoot at 2.8 on the nikon lens and around F4 on the HVX. You will see a much sharper image that way.
