Brett Favre to the vikings

Living in Minnesota, I'm actually excited to see this happen. It's going to make for a very interesting season. What does everyone else think about this?

Personaly, I'm sick of Brett Farve's self indulgent antics. I lost all respect for one
of the best QB's to play this game. This guy retires and unretires like a light switch.

He's playing for purely personal reasons. Like being able to stick it up
Green Bay's ass for dumping him.

I feel bad for the Vikings. I like your team and have been watching them since the
Fran Tarkington era and I wish them the best. Adrian Peterson is a beast.

Just my .02 worth. Good luck.

He's great. But I think he should retire. But then again, the love for the game is real strong with the pro's. He is still as tough as nails and can damn sure throw a football. But I still think he should retire. He has the ring.

You watch, Brett Favre will hurt this team more than help it. The guys has a record of sucking when he doesn't put in the effort, he's gone on record of few times saying how much he hates training camp and putting the effort in the video room. He's already about a month behind on training camp.

As for his retire, unretire, retire, unretire routine.....I'm not going to waste my energy anymore...can't say I'm not surprised.

Wait till he starts throwing up hail mary's half way through the season, just like he does every year.

I have to agree for both comments...

I love it. In most other professions no one says jack about someone retiring then coming out of retirement. In pro sports everyone is in the limelight and for some reason it's considered a bad thing to go back and forth. If a team wants to throw 12 million his way, then more power to him. It's the media that I wish would shut up.

I'm looking forward to it. If nothing else, he's better than anyone we had on the roster yesterday. Also, I'm working a Vikings game in a few weeks, so I'm going to enjoy this a lot.

I don't really follow the NFL but is he breaking any commitments/contracts by retiring and then coming back to the next highest bidder?

Personally, I don't understand all the grief Favre gets when he decides to play football. He isn't the one shoving a mic in his face bombarding himself with questions. The media LOOOOVE this kind of stuff and he just happens to be the one looking like a turd after they get done with him.

As long as a team is willing to sign him, he has every right to play or not play. He is still better than 90% of the other quarterbacks in the league. But, to hang up a sport he has probably played for 30 odd years is tough. So, I blame the media for making a mountain out of it.

For what its worth, it gives the Vikings instant street cred. But, what will they do for their QB position next year when Favre really does retire? After Favre, they have NOBODY.

Horse no worries, just giving you a hard time. It is rather insane how much coverage this is getting. People are making their plans to the Superbowl already. Sure makes them better, makes things real interesting. The circus is always a good time.

It's just that he is a big time player so the press scrutinize his every move. Every time you turn on ESPN or NFL network or pick up a sports page he is hoggin' all the story lines which gets on the nerves of some fans.
I get that, and I know who he is, but his legacy is going to be tarnished after all these so called comebacks. Unless he wins the Super Bowl of course. :)

I'm just waiting for the NHL to start back up.

Nah. He'll always be a Packer and his legacy as being one of the best to ever play the game will remain intact. These "comebacks" would be far less dramatic if the press didn't cover it like it was a Jesus sighting. Years from now this buzz will have all but evaporated.

Too many people get caught up in the 'here and now' and forget there was a 'then'. 4 words. "Montana as a Chief." He is still regarded by many as the best of all time. And, a 49er.
