Hi there

I use i lot of different NLE's on FCP i can unlink the audio and i have mono tracks
In Avid Liquid i can disband and i get mono tracks

BUT in premeire the only way i can get mono track is to duplicate the tracks
and fill left on one and fill right on the other which is not great for normalizing
or doing other other kinda of audio post for that matter, break out to mono
can only be used in the project viewer and only with audio clips and not video/audio files

i usually just post in audition

any ideas

cheers

Hi there, i found it on another fourm you just chanel map under CLIP>AUDIO OPTIONS>CHANNEL MAP it must be done before using them on the timeline

cheers

you can also make a copy of the clip and apply the "fill left" audio filter to one(fills the right channel audio from the left channel effectively making it a stereo track with mono sound from the left channel), and the fill right to the other.

i think there is a beakout to mono command within the editor as well so you can select a clip and just say do something like: clip->audio->breakout to mono. but i cant remember right now. ill check when im editing again if i can remember. .. you could pull up the help and search for "mono breakout" or "mono" though and it should come up.

yeah.. i checked it, and its like i was thinking. you just select a stereo or 5.1 surround clip in the project bin and go clip>audio options>breakout to mono , and it will give you a mono clip file for each channel within the file. hope this helps
